Building a Better Alberta with Affordable Housing
|
A Place to Call Home A Historic Commitment In 2007, Alberta was experiencing unprecedented prosperity and growth, with these changes came challenges. A growing population and demand for housing put pressure on the housing supply. In response Premier Stelmach struck an Affordable Housing Task Force, and based on recommendations from the Task Force, the provincial government committed to support the development of 11,000 affordable housing units by 2012. |

Sharing the Benefits of Achieving Common Goals Supporting the creation of over 11,000 affordable housing units is a significant achievement that all Albertans can celebrate. These units benefit a variety of Albertans in-need, create more vibrant communities, revitalize neighbourhoods, support the goals of non-profit organizations, engage the private sector which provides economic benefits to the local and provincial economy. |
